We offer a variety of small-batch, handmade items including Kitchen Products (like vanilla extracts, sugars & powders, spice blends, or freeze-dried active sour dough starter), Home Goods (such as candles, linen spray and aromatic fire starters), Health and Beauty items (like soaps, scrubs or lotions), and our popular freeze-dried candy. All products are crafted with care in our home kitchen.
Freeze-drying, also known as lyophilization, is a dehydration process that preserves food by freezing it and then removing the ice crystals through sublimation under low pressure, resulting in a dry, long-lasting product with minimal loss of flavor, texture, and nutrients.

- Freezing: The food is frozen to a very low temperature, often below -30 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Primary Drying (Sublimation): The frozen food is placed in a vacuum chamber, and the ice crystals directly turn into vapor (sublimate) without melting into liquid water, thanks to the low pressure and temperature.
- Secondary Drying (Desorption): Any remaining bound water is removed through desorption, a process that occurs at a slightly higher temperature and lower pressure.

The Homemade Food Freedom Act is an Oklahoma law that permits the sale of certain homemade food and drink products, like ours, directly from a home kitchen without requiring a commercial license. Absolutely! We adhere to all Oklahoma State Health Department guidelines for home production. For items requiring time or temperature control (like some freeze-dried candies), we’ve completed approved food safety training to ensure quality and safety. Plus, our home is non-smoking, maintaining a clean environment for production.
Some products may contain allergens like nuts, dairy, or wheat, depending on the item. We label everything clearly, and as required by law, our packaging includes a notice: “This product was produced in a private residence that is exempt from government licensing and inspection. This product may contain allergens.” Please check product descriptions or contact us if you have specific allergy concerns.
Ordering & shipping:
Simply browse our website, add your desired items to the cart, and proceed to checkout. You’ll need to provide your shipping details and payment information. Once your order is confirmed, we’ll get it ready for you! Please keep in mind that some freeze-dried candies are very fragile and not suited for shipping. That will be indicated on our website.
We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), Venmo, and other secure payment options available at checkout.
Orders typically ship within 2-3 business days after processing. Shipping times vary based on your location—most U.S. customers receive their orders within 5-7 business days. You’ll receive a tracking number once your package is on its way.

Returns & Refunds
We want you to love your purchase! If you’re not satisfied, you may return unused, unopened items within 14 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. Please contact us at contact@okierootscollective.com to initiate a return. Note that shipping costs are non-refundable.
We package everything with care, but if your order arrives damaged, please email us at contact@okierootscollective.com with photos within 48 hours of receipt. We’ll replace the item or issue a refund with no hassle!
If your order hasn’t shipped yet, we’re happy to cancel it for a full refund. Once it’s shipped, our return policy applies. Contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel.
Production & Quality
We use high-quality ingredients and follow strict hygiene practices in our non-smoking home. Each batch is made with attention to detail, and we comply with Oklahoma’s food safety standards to ensure consistency and freshness.
Freeze-dried candies are typically non-perishable and don’t require refrigeration, making them shelf-stable and perfect for gifting or snacking. However, we recommend storing them in a cool, dry place for the best experience. Since the freeze-dried items are heat and air sensitive you will need to ensure packages remain closed in-between snacking.
Small-batch production allows us to maintain quality control, experiment with unique recipes, and keep everything fresh. It’s our way of ensuring you get something special every time.
While we don’t conduct formal lab testing (as we’re exempt from commercial licensing), we craft our soaps, lotions, and similar items with safe, skin-friendly ingredients and test them personally to ensure they meet our high standards.
